What you need to rent the NV200
An International Driving Permit (IDP) is not compulsory, but you do need a valid Sri Lankan driving permit.
Temporary Sri Lankan driving permit: issued 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the DMT office in the Airport Lobby for 50 USD. Bring your passport and your valid national driving licence, which must have at least 6 months of validity remaining and be in English or accompanied by an officially endorsed English translation.
If you already hold an IDP: it can be endorsed at the Automobile Association of Ceylon (AA Ceylon) for around 30 USD. This takes more time, so we can arrange it for you in advance. AA Ceylon is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
